February 2010 Report PDF Print E-mail
Dear Partner in the Gospel,

I want to begin this report by offering sincere gratitude on behalf of the FCF International staff and our ministry family in Haiti for all who have contributed to the relief of the earthquake victims. As you know, this catastrophe devastated this island nation, leaving many lives lost and the capital city of Port-au-Prince in ruins. FCF ministers, Jerry and Sonja Dickherber were present on the island of La Gonāve (approximately 45 miles off the west coast of the main island) at the time of the quake.

The Dickherbers have served in La Gonāve for over ten years. Their ministry, Celebrate Jesus of Haiti, includes a church, school, medical clinic and feeding program, which were left intact after the earthquake. Many other structures on the island were damaged or destroyed. In the aftermath of the quake, La Gonāve has received a massive influx of people who were relocated from the capital. This has strained the already sparce food supplies on the island, which are received exclusively through Port-au-Prince.

To date FCF International has received more than $40,000 towards Haitian relief. All of these funds are channeled through Celebrate Jesus of Haiti to purchase food and building supplies. These items are on their way now, and the Dickherbers will be present to meet the shipment and oversee the distribution. Jerry and Sonja want the FCF family to know how grateful they are for your generosity and trust in them. They insure us that 100% of everything that was donated is applied towards the relief efforts. Check out CJH website for updates Guatemala and Honduras My wife, Gail, has returned from a successful trip to Guatemala and Honduras in January.

She ministered at several of the FCF churches in Guatemala, including special meetings for the leadership in each church. She also visited an FCF pastor in Honduras where she was able to assess the spiritual climate of the church. There is a great need for teaching foundational truths among the believers and for training the church leaders. Philippines We also just concluded a FCF Leadership Summit in Cebu City, Philippines. Pastor Jason Meechan (Hawaii) joined Terry Phillips (Singapore) for this meeting hosted by our Relational Representative, “Dutch” Manzano. Dutch reports that 67 pastors and church leaders attended. Terry and Jason spoke about vision.

There was also a special time to minister to the pastors and their spouses. India In March we are sending FCF minister Chuck Coggins to Chennai, India, to do another FCF Leadership event. This will be the first we have done in southern India for many years. We are responding to the great demand for pastoral training in this nation that is experiencing a great wave of church planting. Thank you for your steady, consistent support in prayer and finances, especially in these difficult economic times. The promise of God remains certain, “[He] shall supply all of your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Rejoicing always in Him,
Bob Buse
